As he added, “it was one of the most difficult and unpleasant debates for Poles.”

Head of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen She said the approval of the plan was linked in particular to “clear commitments by Poland as regards an independent judiciary”. – I assure you that no money will be paid out until these reforms are implemented – she added.

MEP Bartosz Arłukowicz (Civic Coalition) referred to the course of the debate in “Fakty po Faktach”. – I have the impression that this debate was one of the most difficult and unpleasant debates for us Poles, who are placed on the outskirts of Europe – he said.
– I think it was not a pleasant debate for Ursula von der Leyen, who was in Poland last week and approved the document called the National Reconstruction Plan – added the politician. As he emphasized, “today, MEPs asked the Commissioner in great detail about how the rule of law will be related to the potentially transferred funds that do not yet exist”.
– It was a very difficult and substantive discussion. And perhaps a debate that clearly shows where we are today. And we are on the lips of all Europe – assessed Arłukowicz.
