On the occasion of the Independence Day, on Thursday, a nationalist march, which this year had a state character, passed through Warsaw. A demonstration organized under the slogan “No pasarán: Poland open, colorful, independent, against fascism” began before 11 o’clock at the Rotunda on Rondo Dmowskiego in the center of the capital. The demonstrators had flags in the colors of the rainbow, in the national and European Union colors.
The police “evacuate” the counter-demonstrators
At some point, the participants of the counter-demonstration stayed removed by force by the police. The spokesman of the Warsaw Police Headquarters, Commissioner Sylwester Marczak, referring to this incident, pointed out that the policemen from the anti-conflict team talked with them and pointed out a safe place for the demonstration some 100 meters away, but these people did not want to leave the roundabout.
“They said they wanted to attend a national assembly, but it was just a form of mockery.” Today, this safety was the most important, so at some point a decision was made to evacuate these people from the roundabout – he explained. He made a reservation that they had not been detained. Among the people taken out was an activist known as Grandma Kasia.
Kinasiewicz: a friend heard from a policeman: “You leftist bastard, get out of Europe”
The representative of the Citizens of the Republic of Poland, Wojciech Kinasiewicz, assessed that the policemen were “exceptionally brutal”. – One of the officers in sand uniform, that is, from the notorious BOA [Biura Operacji Antyterrorystycznych – przyp. red.] he was dragging someone by the arm up the stairs. – A friend heard from a policeman: “You leftist bastard, get out of Europe”. From a policeman in a Polish uniform on Independence Day – he pointed out.
– I witnessed how these people were pulled up the stairs, not carried. The police did not even secure this underpass. It was happening among patriots with flags coming in, who applauded the police – added Wojciech Kinasiewicz.
