The Polish army is moving on our roads, various types of vehicles of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Poland, including those of allied countries, are moving – said Minister of National Defense Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, referring to the ongoing NATO Dragon-24 exercises. In this context, he asked “for something very important.” – Let’s not take photos, let’s not post them on the Internet, let’s not inform about what vehicles, in what number, how many soldiers, what they do, how they perform their tasks. Let’s not make life easier for those who are our enemies, he appealed.

Head of the Ministry of National Defense, Deputy Prime Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz was asked at Monday’s conference after the meeting with the Minister of Defense Sweden Pal Jonson in Gdynia, among other things, about the Dragon-24 exercises in Poland, which are part of the maneuvers FOR THIS under the common code name Steadfast Defender-24.

As he recalled, “Steadfast Defender is an entire NATO exercise in which 90,000 soldiers take part.” – They have been going on for several weeks now, and the Polish part of the NATO exercises, i.e. Dragon-24, started last week. Tomorrow I will participate in these exercises. The President of the Republic of Poland and ministers responsible for security will also participate, he said.

The Minister of National Defense said that “the situation in Europe and in the world is extremely serious.” – Hence, NATO must be ready for its actions, for deterrence and defense. And this deterrence component is extremely important, and the Dragon-24 exercises fulfill the deterrence component. They are a clear signal of the readiness of the North Atlantic Alliance to take all possible actions to defend the countries belonging to the Alliance, he emphasized.

Kosiniak-Kamysz also cited several numbers related to the ongoing exercises. – 20 thousand soldiers, including 15 thousand soldiers from Poland, (…) 3.5 thousand various types of equipment that take part in this event and 10 countries whose representatives, whose Armed Forces are present on our territory – he said .

In his opinion, “it is a show of strength and fitness, but also preparation and training in cooperation.” – There is no defense without cooperation, there is no defense without preparation and without practice. We have to be ready to defend every day. Don’t wait and say that we will be ready in a year, in two, in ten years. No, here and now, he continued.

– This requires exercise. That is, the dimension of deterrence, the dimension of practical skills acquired by our Armed Forces and allied Armed Forces, and the dimension of cooperation between our Armed Forces. These are the components that make up the Dragon 24 exercise – the largest exercise on the territory of the Republic of Poland since Poland joined NATO – he added.

Kosiniak-Kamysz asks “for something very important”

Kosiniak-Kamysz added that he had another “request” and asked for it to be taken “very seriously.” – It is moving on our roads Polish army, various types of vehicles of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Poland, including those of allied countries, are moving – he recalled. In this context, he appealed for “hospitality”. – And I know this is happening – he added.

– But I’m also asking for something very important. Let’s not take photos, let’s not post them on the Internet, let’s not inform about what vehicles, in what numbers, how many soldiers, what they do, how they perform their tasks. Let’s not make life easier for those who are our enemies. Let’s not make life easier for those who want to obtain this information at any cost, he appealed.

He emphasized that “it is very important to be ready to defend the homeland.” – But some of the things that are happening should not be sent anywhere on the Internet in any way, so as to constitute easy reconnaissance material. Let’s do everything to support the Polish army and our allies – added the head of the Ministry of National Defense.
