Navy chief to sailors: Afghanistan mission ‘was not in useless, made a distinction’

Adm. Mike Gilday, the Navy’s high officer, has written a letter to the fleet Friday telling sailors that their mission and repair in Afghanistan “was not in useless and it made a distinction.” 

The letter – which was obtained by Fox Information – was despatched after the leaders of the Military and Marines penned comparable messages this week to their troops.
