NCBR, large marketing expenses. List of entities

Last year, the National Center for Research and Development spent over PLN 6 million on marketing. This is a significant increase compared to previous years – we read in “Gazeta Wyborcza”, which reached the list of marketing entities that the NCRD paid for promotion.

“Gazeta Wyborcza” has obtained documents which show that the National Center for Research and Development spent PLN 3.3 million on promotion in 2020, PLN 4.5 million in 2021, and PLN 6.5 million in 2022. As “GW” writes, “the list of companies and other entities commissioned by the NCRD with various promotional and marketing services includes several dozen items, concerning image campaigns, advertisements published in the press, participation in events or PR services”.

Members of the Civic Coalition, Michał Szczerba and Dariusz Joński, who reveal further irregularities at the NCBR, indicate in an interview with the daily several companies that received orders from the NCBR. Among them there are those who also worked for other institutions managed by people associated with PIS.

Among them are, among others:

Congress 590, i.e. a company that organizes “the most important event of the government’s economic base” with the same name. NCBR – as we read – transferred to the company’s accounts in total over half a million zlotysthe most in June 2022 – PLN 369 thousand.

Company Five Media she got PLN 434 thousand for advertising campaigns. – In the middle of last year, the same agency received an order from the Ministry of Climate and Environment for the implementation of a nationwide information and education campaign on nuclear energy – the budget of five million zlotys – commented Dariusz Joński.

KDK is “an agency working for many local and government entities from all over Poland”. She received PLN 1.8 million. – We would like to point out that it was this agency that organized the events in a hybrid form for the National Center for Research and Development. This is huge money for online events – said Joński.

Impact Foundation received over PLN 340,000 from the National Center for Research and Development for enabling participation in “events with the participation of innovation leaders”.

Participation in Eagles Wprost 2023 series cost the NCRD PLN 250,000. This event – under the name of a weekly – is financially supported by state-owned companies and under the honorary patronage of two ministries.

Agency Made in Warsawreceived PLN 700,000 from the NCBR. Previously, she worked, among others, for the Ministry of Investment and Development.

NCBR co-organized the competition for the Polish Product of the Future, for which PLN 650 thousand was allocated. This is a plebiscite of the Polish Agency for Enterprise Development. – This is a government agency supervised by Jacek Żalek – recalled Joński. Żalek is a former deputy minister of funds and regional policy and a close associate Adam Bielanthe head of the Republican Party.

In addition, in 2022, the National Center for Research and Development allocated PLN 162,000 to changing your logo.

– The closer to the elections, the more funds for advertising and PR agencies. This is a phenomenon that we observe with MP Joński in many institutions – commented Szczerba. “We will consistently monitor them to prevent abuse,” he assured.
