– It is not my job to convince Meloni (Giori Meloni, Prime Minister Italian – red.), we already have a majority with the EPP, liberals and socialists and other small groups, he said Donald Tusk before meeting with leaders of the European People's Party (EPP).

– I have the impression that this is more than enough – added the Prime Minister. His words were reported by the Italian agency Ansa.

Tusk also said he would support it nomination of the Prime Minister of Estonia, Kaia Kallas to one of the highest positions in the EU.

– Kallas is a very good candidate, He knows the problems of our region very well and understands the Ukrainian and Russian realities – he said. – It presents a one-to-one position like the Polish one – he added.

According to unofficial information, Kallas, whose Estonian Reform Party (ER) is a member of the liberal Renew Europe group in the European Parliament, may become the head of EU diplomacy.
