A man’s body was found in the landing gear of a plane at Schiphol Airport in Amsterdam. The machine flew from Canada, and previously it was also in Nigeria. However, it is not known exactly when the man managed to hide in the plane.

According to the Dutch “NL Times”, the authorities of Amsterdam’s Schiphol airport confirmed on Monday that a man’s body had been found in the landing gear of a KLM airliner. He was probably a “stowaway”, but it is not known when and how he managed to hide there.

The machine has arrived the Netherlands from Canada, and previously she was also in Lagos, Nigeria. However, it is not clear in which city the man managed to hide in the chassis or at what point this happened. So it is not known how long he was there. At this time, officers do not suspect a crime. “The investigation is ongoing and we are trying to identify the victim to inform the family,” a spokesman for the Dutch military police (Marechaussee) told the Telegraaf daily.

Dutch media recall that similar incidents have occurred in the past. At the same airport two years ago, a man was found dead on a plane that had come from Lagos. In 2021, a 16-year-old boy was also found alive, who hid in the landing gear and thus flew from London to Maastricht. However, given the extremely low temperatures in the air, reaching as low as -50 degrees Celsius, and low oxygen levels, such a journey is extremely risky.
