Ryanair has paid 400 euros each to passengers on a flight from Eindhoven to Alicante in Spain because of a delay caused by a drunk steward, RTL Nieuws reports on Tuesday.
The incident took place in November last year.

According to the portal, a drunk flight attendant was caught by the police during a check at Eindhoven airport and fined 1,000 euros.
As a replacement for an intoxicated crew member had to be found, the plane arrived in Alicante 3.5 hours later than planned. 26 passengers applied to the Irish carrier for compensation and, according to RTL Nieuws, they were paid.

When arriving at your destination with a delay of at least 3 hours, the passenger is entitled to compensation in the amount of 250 to 600 eurosunless the flight was canceled or delayed due to extraordinary circumstances.
The latter include: bad weather, natural disasters, third party strikes, e.g. by airport staff, political instability, security threats, air traffic control restrictions, e.g. runway closures, bird strikes (airplane strike with a bird), hidden aircraft manufacturing defects.
