In November 2024, nearly 55,000 passenger cars and delivery vans were registered in Poland – reported the Automotive Market Research Institute (IBRM) Samar. He added that the November record from 1999 had been broken.
According to data from the Central Register of Vehicles and Drivers, in November 2024, 54,963 passenger cars and delivery vans up to 3.5 t were registered in Poland, i.e. by 16.54%. (+7,801 pcs.) more than a year earlier and by 1.74%. (+941 pcs.) more than in October 2024.
In turn, cumulative data for 2024 (555,643 units) show an increase in sales by 13.13%. (64,478 pcs.) – reported IBRM Samar. He added that during the eleven months of 2024, nine brands from the top ten recorded a year-on-year increase in the number of registered cars.
Fear of rising car prices
Samar pointed out that this November was the nineteenth consecutive month with a year-on-year increase in sales. It was also the best November in history in terms of the number of registered cars. Previously, the best result was recorded in November 1999 – 47,812 units.

“The fourth quarter of the year is traditionally a period of an increase in the number of new car registrations, which is related to sales of vehicles from the end of the year. This year, sales are additionally driven by the fear of price increases, which is to be the result of the introduction of new regulations on CO2 emissions from January 1, 2025 This may result in a significant increase in car registrations at the end of this year and a poor start to 2025,” Samar said in a statement.
The data provided shows that electric cars obtained in November this year 2.5 percent share in new car sales. Participation of producers from China in sales of passenger cars reached 3.3 percent. Premium brand cars had the lowest share this year – 20.7%. The dominant buyer of new cars in dealerships is still the fleet customer with 66%. market share.
The IBRM SAMAR forecast for the entire year 2024 assumes registration of approximately 555,000. passenger cars and 67 thousand delivery vans.
