The proceedings concerning the activities of the Government Agency for Strategic Reserves were conducted by the European Anti-Fraud Office, or OLAF. It concerns the spending of EU subsidies. The report of this investigation is included in the files of the Polish investigation into the RARS case. – OLAF categorically stated that there was a violation of the spending of subsidies in the amount of 91 million euros – said in “Kropka nad i” national prosecutor Dariusz Korneluk.

National Prosecutor Dariusz Korneluk spoke in “Kropka nad i” on TVN24 about the case of MichaÅ‚ K., former president of the Government Agency for Strategic Reserves. The prosecutor's office accuses K. of participating in an organized criminal group and exceeding his authority and failing to fulfill his duties in order to gain financial benefits. These charges are the result of an investigation into irregularities in RARS, which he headed. In addition, charges were filed against him PaweÅ‚ Szopa, creator of the Red is Bad clothing brand.

This week K. appeared before the Extradition Division of Westminster Magistrates’ Court in London. During the hearing, K. did not agree to voluntary extradition.. A British court has refused to allow the former RARS chief to pay bail so that he can remain free and answer from a free foot. The RARS scandal. Korneluk: OLAF also conducted an investigation

– I will say one thing in this matter, which probably the public has not yet learned – Korneluk announced. As he informed, the case of irregularities in RARS “was also investigated by the OLAF office (European Anti-Fraud Office), a European Union office established specifically to investigate financial fraud to the detriment of the European Union”.

– RARS applied for a subsidy from the European Union, which was granted, for the supply of energy maintenance equipment. OLAF categorically stated – we have a report in the case file – that there was a violation of the spending of these subsidies in the amount of 91 million euros – he informed.

He stressed that “it was not the prosecutor who stated this, it was an independent office established by the European Union to determine abuses to the detriment of the European Union”.

Kroneluk assured that the evidence in the case of the Government Agency for Strategic Reserves is solid. He emphasized that prosecutors conducting the proceedings do not rely only on witness statements, but on the entire evidence. And the court, each time it has to decide whether to apply arrest or issue an arrest warrant, has examined whether the evidentiary “workload” is sufficient for this.

– The application for arrest in the case of MichaÅ‚ K. was 70 pages long – Korneluk emphasized.
