New salt. A five-year-old child on the tracks, the driver stopped the train

A small child found himself on the tracks near the railway station in Nowa Sól (Lubusz Voivodeship). The driver of the train that was leaving the station noticed them and managed to stop the train. The child was helped by officers of the Railway Protection Guard. The child is under the care of the parents.

Karol Jakubowski, press spokesman PKP PLK informed that the incident occurred on Wednesday after 1 p.m. in Nowa Sól.

– A passenger train on the Wrocław-Zielona Góra route was leaving the platform of Nowa Sól station. The driver noticed a 5-year-old child on the tracks. He stopped the train. There was a Railway Protection Guard patrol on the train. The officers ran out and took the child to a safe place – said Karol Jakubowski in an interview with tvn24.pl.

We asked Aspirant Justyna Sęczkowska-Sobol, press officer of the District Police Headquarters in Nowa Sól, for a comment.

– Police investigations are ongoing. This is an incident involving a child, so we need to verify everything carefully. The activities are at an early stage. I can’t say anything more at the moment, the policewoman said.

The officer added that the child is currently under the care of her parents.
