WASHINGTON, D.C. – A New York Democrat stated the U.S. is not a democracy if girls cannot have abortions.
“We’re not even in a democracy if girls cannot make choices about their very own our bodies,” Rep. Carolyn Maloney informed Fox Information in entrance of the Supreme Courtroom on Wednesday.
“We’re talking out in opposition to any efforts to roll again Roe v. Wade,” Maloney, who chairs the Home Oversight and Reform Committee, stated as she exited her automobile to hitch an indication alongside different Home Democrats.
The Supreme Courtroom heard a case Wednesday relating to a Mississippi legislation that bans abortions after 15 weeks. The case, Dobbs v. Jackson, may upend Roe v. Wade, which in 1973 granted girls the constitutional proper to abortions throughout the first two trimesters.
