American rapper Nicki Minaj failed to make it to her concert in Manchester on Saturday after she was stopped by police at Amsterdam's Schiphol airport for trying to take soft drugs. Minaj posted a video on social media in which she was informed that the police were going to search her luggage.

Nicki Minaj, an American rapper and singer of Trinidadian origin, was detained by the police on Saturday, a few hours before the scheduled start of her concert in Manchester. According to Reuters, Dutch services confirmed that a 41-year-old American was detained at the airport for possession of soft drugs. The announcement emphasized that the law prohibits the export of such substances from… Netherlands.

The artist was to be fined and released several dozen minutes after she was supposed to start performing in Great Britain.

“They found weed”

The singer previously published a video on the X platform, which shows an employee of Schiphol airport informing her that the police have decided to search her luggage. Another recording, according to Reuters, shows a policeman telling the artist that she “has drugs on her.” Minaj denies.

“Now they said they found weed and that another group of people need to come here to weigh the pre-rolls,” she wrote in another post. She added that her luggage was “taken away without consent.”

The American rapper played a concert at the Ziggo Dome in Amsterdam on Thursday. He is scheduled to play there again on June 2.
