A policeman and a volunteer firefighter rescued a teenager who was swimming with his 55-year-old uncle on Lake Bujackie in the commune of Nidzica (WarmiĆsko-Mazurskie Voivodeship). Their boat capsized and they fell into the water. The 55-year-old drowned.
The services received a report on Friday (July 21) around 11.30 am, which showed that a boat capsized by two people on Lake Bujackie (Nidzica commune).
A police patrol was sent to the spot. The officers were joined by a firefighter of the TSO, who indicated the best and fastest access to the lake. Access to the reservoir was difficult, officers had to get there on foot.

They brought the 17-year-old ashore
“Hearing a dramatic call for help, the policeman and the fireman entered the lake and, after covering about 30 meters through the swampy area, on the edge of the reeds, they noticed a 17-year-old boy in the water, holding onto the reeds.
A teenager was swimming with his uncle in a boat, and when it capsized at some point, they both fell into the water. Unfortunately, my uncle drowned.
The 55-year-old could not be saved
“Rescue services arrived at the scene and about two hours after receiving the notification, firefighters found and extracted the body of a man. He is a 55-year-old resident of the Nidzica commune” – reads the message.
Now the police are explaining in detail the causes and circumstances of this tragic event.
