The prosecutor's office is investigating the murder of a 77-year-old woman whose body was found in an apartment in the Niedrzwica Duża commune (Lubelskie). It was initially determined that the woman had been strangled.
The spokesperson for the District Prosecutor's Office in Lublin, Agnieszka Kępka, announced on Thursday that the body of the 77-year-old was found a few days ago in an apartment in a village in the Niedrzwica Duża commune (Lublin district). The body showed no visible signs of injury.
According to Kępka, on Thursday a doctor performed an autopsy on the 77-year-old woman and indicated the preliminary cause of death as suffocation.
Murder investigation
“We are conducting an investigation into Article 148 of the Penal Code, i.e. murder,” she added.
§ 1. Whoever kills a human being shall be subject to the penalty of deprivation of liberty for a minimum term of 8 years, the penalty of deprivation of liberty for 25 years or the penalty of deprivation of liberty for life.
10 kilometers away a man's body
Local media reported that a few hours after the 77-year-old's body was discovered, a man's body was found about 10 kilometers away. Prosecutor Kępka has not yet confirmed his connection with the woman's death. She said that his identity is being determined and an autopsy has been scheduled.
The penalty for murder is life imprisonment.
