A PLN 2,500 fine, 15 penalty points and loss of driving license for three months – these are the consequences for the driver who drove 120 km/h in Niegosławice (Lubusz Voivodeship). in a place where the speed limit was 40 km/h.

On Thursday, in Niegosławice, police officers from the Żagań traffic police stopped a Mercedes driver who was driving at excessive speed.

– In a built-up area, where the speed limit is 40 kilometers per hour, the speed of a 49-year-old man on the odometer was 120, exceeding the speed limit by as much as 80 kilometers per hour – says Staff Sergeant Arkadiusz Szlachetko, press officer of the District Police Headquarters in Żagań.

The police suspended the man’s driving license for 3 months, fined him PLN 2,500 and 15 penalty points.

The second driver with an even higher fine

On the same day, in Rudawica, police officers from the Żagań traffic police stopped a 25-year-old BMW driver who was driving at a speed of 99 kilometers in a place where the speed limit is 40 kilometers per hour.

– As it was established, the man had previously been punished for a traffic offense, and due to recidivism, in addition to having his driving license suspended for three months, he received a fine of PLN 3,000 and 13 penalty points – says Szlachetko.
