On the Niemodlin (Opolskie) bypass, a passenger bus ran into energy-intensive barriers and overturned on the road. Two people traveled in the vehicle, one of them – a 47-year-old woman – died. The thread towards Nysa is blocked.
The accident took place on Saturday – around 9 o’clock – on the national road number 46, at the exit to Tułowice. On Saturday morning – as the policemen emphasize – the conditions on the roads of the Opole region were difficult.
A 47-year-old passenger is dead
– The preliminary findings of the policemen working on the site show that the man did not adjust the speed to the prevailing conditions, he ran into the railing, as a result of which the car overturned. A 47-year-old woman who was seriously injured traveled with him. Despite the quick resuscitation, the passenger died – says Dariusz Świątczak from the press office of the Opole police.
The unconscious woman stuck in the car was released by firefighters. During the rescue operation, it was decided to call the Polish Medical Air Rescue helicopter, but due to unfavorable weather conditions, it could not take off. The crew of LPR medics was brought to the site by the Volunteer Fire Department from Polska Nowa Wieś. Unfortunately, the woman could not be saved. The man was not seriously injured.
The Niemodlin bypass towards Nysa is blocked. The police have set a detour through the city.
