The second of them won the women's edition of the Tour de France. Pikulik became famous for her harsh criticism of the Polish Cycling Association. We didn't have bikes, we didn't have anything. We got our suits the day before the start. So it's not our fault. We fought until the end. We can be proud of ourselves – she said openly.

Now both cyclists have encountered huge problems. Their participation in the upcoming World and European Championships is in question. All because the Ministry of Sport has not earmarked a single złoty for this purpose. Both athletes have been offered a bizarre way out of this impasse. Namely: they would have to cover the cost of starting in two championship competitions themselves, and we are talking about a considerable sum. From the information “Super Express” it turns out that as much as 1.1 million zlotys are needed!
The Polish Cycling Association, however, decided to take action on this matter and launched a fundraiser on the Zrzutka.pl website. Here is the link to the collection. As reported by “Super Express“, Radosław Tadajewski, a businessman from Wrocław, operating in the high-tech industry, came to “help” Pikulik and Niewiadomej. He declared funds worth PLN 100,000. – I found out about the financial situation of PZKol on Thursday. I believe that the role of the ministry is to support and solve problems, not to stigmatize and punish – he said in “Super Express”.
– On Sunday I took part in a competition where apart from a few kilometers in the water, half marathon, running, I spent several hours on the bike, with each subsequent kilometer and each subsequent drop of sweat I admire and respect more the achievements of Katarzyna Niewiadoma, Daria Pikulik and all the extraordinary ladies representing our country in this noble discipline! – he added.
