Robert Lewandowski did miss a penalty in the match between Barcelona and Villarreal, but he scored two goals earlier, and his team ultimately won 5:1. The captain of the Polish national team remains the leader of the LaLiga scoring charts, and the Spanish media write about him as the “best version”. Surprisingly, even the Italians did not spare him praise.
Robert Lewandowski deserves praise. Italians are delighted with him. “Eternal class”
Lewandowski's double was also noticed by experts from “La Gazzetta dello Sport”, who created the best “eleven” of the last league round in the whole of Europe. In the 1-4-1-4-1 formation, the Pole became the only striker, which in itself is a huge distinction. Further on, we read very significant words about him – interestingly, in the combination with Riccardo Calafiori.
“Calafiori and Lewandowski are two sides of the same coin. Young talent and eternal class” – we read. Of course, the term “eternal class” refers to the FC Barcelona striker. “Lewandowski continues to score goals in LaLiga and with six goals after six matches confirms his legend” – reads a further description of the striker's form.
The best team of the past weekend according to “La Gazzetta dello Sport”:
- Di Gregorio (Juventus) – Carvajal (Real Madrid), Gabbia (AC Milan), Konsa (Aston Villa), Calafiori (Arsenal) – Reijnders (AC Milan), Olise (Bayern Munich), Wirtz (Bayer Leverkusen), Millot (VfB) Stuttgart), Rowe (Olympique Marseille) – Lewandowski (FC Barcelona)
More and more often, Robert Lewandowski's age is emphasized. However, the 36-year-old has been in really great shape since Hansi Flick took over Barcelona, and even the Spanish media, eager to criticize, write about him in superlatives.
Lewandowski will have another chance to play well on Wednesday, September 25, when FC Barcelona hosts Getafe. The Polish national team captain has never scored against this opponent.
