The “Weekend of Miracles” of Szlachetna Paczka is approaching. The poorest, lonely people, those in need of help will get what they need most before Christmas, to help them at least a little bit and simply comfort them. Each of us can bring tears of emotion. There are many volunteers, but more are needed. There are still over a thousand families waiting for donors.
Mrs. Elżbieta is 82 years old. She is a former math teacher and tries to be brave. – I have always been a visual person, and now I have lost my sight – says Mrs. Elżbieta, a ward of Szlachetna Paczka. The senior is able to perform fewer and fewer everyday activities on her own. He lives in a small apartment with his daughter, who requires constant neurological care. In order to read anything, Mrs. Elżbieta needs an electronic magnifying glass due to her almost complete loss of vision. He must return the borrowed one. That’s why she asked good people from Szlachetna Paczka for a new one. – Once I washed my hair with Cifem instead of shampoo. I can’t read anything without an electronic magnifying glass – emphasizes Ms. Elżbieta.
Among the several thousand families in need whose stories can be read on the Szlachetna Paczka website, there are people who have been living in extreme poverty for a long time. Next to them are those who were getting by until something happened that made them need to ask for help. Mrs. Olga raises her daughter alone. In Szlachetna Paczka she hopes to find an oven, a pass for children’s classes and food.
The upcoming weekend is “Weekend of Miracles”. – This is the moment when parcels go from the state, from donors, to volunteers, and the volunteers take them to their families – explains Joanna Sadzik, president of the Wiosna, Szlachetna Paczka Association.
Many in need
On Sunday evening, over 1,000 families were still waiting for their donors. You can apply for help until December 15. By visiting the Szlachetna Paczka website, we can easily check which families in need closest to our place of residence are still waiting for their donors. The description of each beneficiary specifies the three most important needs that the donor must meet if he declares his assistance. The rest of the gifts on the list are also worth collecting. – Everyone talks about food and cleaning products as priorities – emphasizes Lidia Bogaczówna, actress and ambassador of Szlachetna Paczka.
There are also living proofs of the Szlachetna Paczka effect among volunteers. Five years ago, Nathaniel and his mother asked for help in a crisis. Today, the 23-year-old helps others. – In this package I also had my shirt in which I wrote my high school final exam, in which I wrote the olympiads in which I was involved as a student. I also received my notebook in which I wrote my dreams – says Nathaniel Brożnowicz, a volunteer of Szlachetna Paczka.
Szlachetna Paczka also helped make these dreams come true.
