Representatives of Finland, Denmark, Norway and Sweden signed a document enabling joint purchases of ammunition. Helsinki and Copenhagen also made a separate declaration on strengthening cooperation.
Since then, Nordic countries will be able to make joint purchases of ammunition. The document in this matter was signed on Thursday by representatives FinlandDenmark, Norway and Sweden – the Finnish Ministry of Defense informed. According to his statement, this step is part of the “broader Nordic cooperation”.
“Compatible and joint orders strengthen the security of deliveries throughout the region,” says the Ministry of Defense of Finland. Two days earlier, information appeared on his website about the Ministers of Finland and Denmark Antti Häkkänen and Troels Lund Poulsen a declaration on the deepening of “mutual defense cooperation”.

Greater cooperation of the Nordic states
The agreement of both countries focuses on the issue of deterrence and implementation of defense NATO. It also includes the cooperation of naval forces, the use of F-35 fighters, military exercises and training, and shopping of weapons.
In January, the Finnish ministry also announced the construction of a new Trotyl Factory, used for the production of artillery and mortar shells. The new plant will be built on the west coast of Finland in Pori on the Batnica Bay, and about EUR 250 million will be allocated to the investment. The Finnish factory will be the second plant in the EU producing TNT explosives, next to the factory in Poland – emphasized the ministry.
Both Finland and Denmark, Norway and Sweden are members of Nordic defense cooperation (Nordefco). The association focuses on cooperation in the field of defense and military industry. Apart from them, the group still includes Iceland. All five countries also belong to NATO.
