North Korean leader Kim Jong Un announced the adoption of the “strongest” strategy towards the US and its allies – South Korea and Japan – during the plenary session of the central committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, the state news agency KCNA reported on Sunday.
“Reality clearly shows what direction we should go, what we should do and how,” Kim Jong Un's directive was conveyed to KCNA. She did not provide details of the “strongest” strategy towards the United States and its allies.
Promoting relations with “friendly” countries
The trilateral alliance between South Korea, USA and Japan expanded into a “nuclear military bloc”, a South Korea has become an “anti-communist outpost” of the US, KCNA added in a statement.
The meeting of North Korean Communist Party authorities, held on December 23-27, also included a review of plans in the event of floods early in the new year, including a plan to evacuate those affected to Pyongyang, the country's capital. The state authorities also pledged to promote relations with “friendly” countries, state television reported.
Cooperation with Russia
The plenary session of the central committee of the Workers' Party of Korea ends the year in which North Korea signed with Russia a military agreement that includes a mutual defense obligation. Washington and Seoul have criticized the two countries' military cooperation, including sending North Korean troops to fight on Russia's side in the war against Ukraine.
