North Korea’s dictator Kim Jong Un has ordered the deployment of a network of spy satellites to “enhance the country’s intelligence capabilities,” state news agency KCNA reported.

According to KCNA, Kim visited the headquarters of the North Korean space research agency on Tuesday. During this visit, he stated that “taking action in the field of military intelligence is an important and priority task to increase our military potential and counter threats from USA and South Korea.

As he said, the creation of a network of satellites is intended to “increase the intelligence capabilities” of North Korea. – Obtaining current information on the military scenarios of our opponents is the most important task – he added.

Kim said that the first satellite in the series has successfully passed the final tests, and its launch is planned for April.

Reuters recalls that after last December’s tests with two medium-range missiles, Pyongyang released low-resolution black-and-white photos of South Korea’s capital Seoul and the port city of Incheon that were allegedly taken during the tests.
