The brilliant Northern Lights illuminated the sky throughout sure components of the UK final night time.

The lights glazed the sky on Sunday 23 April and had been seen throughout Wales and England.

Lancaster College’s AuroraWatch, run by the Area and Planetary Physics group, issued a ‘crimson alert’, which means that seeing aurora was very “doubtless”.

What causes the aurora or ‘northern lights’?
