Abortion free from criminal law, from control, from shame, distortions, free from conscience clause. We go for Iza, for her relatives. We go because every day, hundreds of us, like Iza, need someone to take care of them. They need an abortion. Tusk: in Poland, a prosecutor, not a doctor, is pregnant

Politicians from KO, Left and Poland 2050 announced their participation.

On Friday, the leader of the Civic Platform, Donald Tusk, emphasized at a press conference that he was touched by this issue and that he would therefore take part in a protest – as he said, “not as a politician, not as the leader of the opposition party, but as a man, as a husband, father, grandfather” and will be among all those who “believe that we can come out of this darkness, out of this darkness”.

– A very dangerous thing has been happening in recent years and months. The ruling ideology is confused with the people – said Tusk. – Introduced by the really religious sect of Mrs. Kai Godek, the sect that takes over both the Polish Church, and unfortunately also the power camp, and the result of this presence of increasing pressure from fanatical ideologues is the law and there are decisions. These decisions cause human death – said the leader of the PO.

In his opinion, “in Poland, in fact, through the decision of the Court of Mrs. Przyłębska under the patronage of Mr. Kaczyński, the prosecutor, not the doctor, actually conducts the pregnancy”. – A doctor who wants to save a woman’s life must consider whether he will go to jail, whether Mr. Ziobro will put him in prison for saving a woman’s life in danger. In the case of Ms Iza, this matter is evident – emphasized Tusk.

Gill-Friday: This is a matter to be decided in a referendum

Magdalena Biejat, a member of this formation, announced her and other Left-wing politicians’ participation. – As politicians of the Left, we will be there – I will be in Warsaw, but as politicians we will not build the main heroes of this event, because they are women and their rights – she stated.

She recalled that the marches were convened by organizations associated in the “Legal Abortion. Without Compromises” committee. – We co-create this committee and the Left in various cities in Poland is organizing these marches – noted the deputy of the Left.

The head of PSL, Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, asked by PAP whether he and party members will participate in Saturday’s protests, said that PSL is a democratic party “and everyone decides for himself which demonstrations he takes part in”. – I’m in Opole on Saturday. I have a convention all day from 10 am, I have an internal campaign in PSL. I have had an appointment with activists in the Opole region for a long time, we have elections in the Opolskie Voivodeship and I will be there – said Kosiniak-Kamysz.

Hanna Gill-Piątek, MP of Poland2050, has announced her participation in the Warsaw march. She emphasized that she did not know what decision the leader of the group, Szymon Hołownia, would make in this matter. She emphasized that Poland 2050 is in favor of considering last year’s judgment of the Constitutional Tribunal on abortion as non-binding, “now returning to the so-called abortion compromise”. – After the elections, when the PiS rule will no longer exist, we believe that this is a matter to be decided in the referendum – she emphasized.

Judgment of the Constitutional Court of Julia Przyłębska

The provisions of the abortion law were changed as a result of the judgment of the Constitutional Tribunal of October 22 last year. Previously, the Act on Family Planning, Protection of the Human Fetus and Conditions for Permitting Termination of Pregnancy, in force since 1993, called compromise, allowed an abortion in three cases: in a situation where the pregnancy poses a threat to the life or health of a woman, when the pregnancy resulted from a prohibited act (rape, incest), and in the case of severe and irreversible impairment of the fetus or an incurable disease that threatens its life .

The latter premise was found unconstitutional by the Constitutional Tribunal – the provisions still allow for the possibility of termination of pregnancy if it poses a threat to the life and health of a woman, as well as when there is a justified suspicion that the pregnancy is a result of a prohibited act, inter alia, rape.

He provoked the judgment of October 22 a wave of protests across the country. It was published on January 27 this year.
