“Acting to the detriment of public and private interests” – this is the accusation made against the former minister in the Law and Justice government by PKP Cargo. It concerns the so-called coal decision, i.e. not concluding an agreement with the company in 2022 regarding the transport of coal purchased by PGE Paliwa and WÄ™glokoks. Jacek Sasin was supposed to be legally obliged to sign it.

Notification to the prosecutor's office regarding Jacek Sasin

The company points out that in order to implement the coal decision, the then carrier's management terminated other contracts, incurring losses that still weigh on its condition. Therefore, PKP Cargo considered this negligence so flagrant that it filed a notice to the prosecutor's office about a suspicion of a crime committed by Jacek Sasin, the Minister of State Assets in the PiS government (2019-2023). Jacek Sasin criticized this decision.

“I understand that a scene is needed so that Poles do not see how you are destroying the State Treasury, but we have been in the fog of absurdity for too long,” he wrote on social media. The PiS politician assured that the company's management filed a notification, although according to the current management of the ministry, the costs to PKP Cargo in connection with the 2022 decision have been fully covered.

Jacek Sasin outraged by PKP Cargo's move. “Absurd”

“A few days ago, the current Minister of State Assets stated that: 'There are no grounds for the Minister of State Assets to sign an agreement with PKP Cargo on the basis of the decision issued by the Prime Minister on July 25, 2022.' According to the Ministry of Assets, the transport costs referred to in the decision have been fully covered for PKP Cargo,” he wrote on social media.

He also explained himself in a conversation with PAP. – Prime Minister Morawiecki's decision concerned only the payment for coal transport. If other costs were incurred, e.g. costs of other unfulfilled contracts, they were not covered by this decision. As the minister of state assets, I had no legal basis to conclude any agreement – he said.

He called the whole situation “absurd”. Jacek Sasin was also a guest on Radio Zet, where he assured that “there is nothing to be afraid of”. – I am completely fine with this matter – the former minister of state assets assured.
