On Thursday, November 2, voivodeship offices, tax offices, customs and tax offices, tax administration chambers and the National Tax Information will be closed. Officials received time off for National Independence Day, which falls on Saturday this year. However, the Ministry of Finance reminds that many tax matters can be settled 24 hours a day online.
This year, National Independence Day (November 11) falls on Saturday, which means that the employer is obliged to set a day off on a different date. The Labor Code guarantees a day off for holidays falling on Saturday. Some officials will have a day off on Thursday, November 2.
This is the result of the ordinance on designating days off for members of the civil service corps, which was signed by the Prime Minister last week Mateusz Morawiecki.
“The Prime Minister signed a regulation on designating days off from work for members of the Civil Service Corps: November 2, 2023 – for National Independence Day, which falls on Saturday, November 11, 2023, January 2, 2024 – for Epiphany , which falls on Saturday, January 6, 2024.” – it said in a statement Ministry of Finance.
Offices closed on November 2
This means – as the ministry announced – that on Thursday, November 2, customs and tax offices will be closed, while customs branches will carry out tasks, among others: in the field of customs declarations and goods traffic control at border crossings.
Provincial offices and education offices will also be closed. The Polish Press Agency reported that there will be exceptions, which voivodes inform about on their websites.
As we read, the Wielkopolska Voivodeship Office will be closed, with the exception of scheduled meetings of the Provincial Team for Disability Assessment in the Wielkopolska Voivodeship and duties held in the Department of Security and Crisis Management and the Department of Health. In turn, in Mazovia, visits were previously planned for November 2 this year. at the Department of Foreigners’ Affairs will take place in accordance with the adopted schedule.
Thursday may also be a day off from work in selected local government offices. It depends on the decision of the commune head, mayor, president or starosta.

The Ministry of Finance announced that “employees of tax offices will agree on a new date for the meeting with people who have already made an appointment at the office on November 2 this year.”
“We would like to remind you that many tax matters can be dealt with 24 hours a day at the e-Tax Office available at kontakt.gov.pl. We log in to e-US using a Trusted Profile (PZ), e-ID, via electronic banking or the mObywatel application” – the ministry added.
The Ministry of Finance also encouraged people to use the online services of the National Tax Administration.
