Police officers from Pajęczno (Łódź Voivodeship) detained a 42-year-old man suspected of robbing a bank branch in Nowa Brzeźnica. The perpetrator terrorized its employees with a gun and stole PLN 50,000. By the court's decision, the man, who had previously been convicted many times, was placed in custody. He faces up to 20 years in prison.
The incident occurred on December 18 around 11.20 at a bank branch in Nowa Brzeźnica in Pajęczański County. A man burst in and demanded money. When he received it, he went away. The police started looking for the perpetrator.

The arrest of the wanted man was announced by Asp. Wioletta Mielczarek from the police in Pajęczno. As she recalled, the perpetrator entered the bank branch, threatened them with a gun, terrorized the employees and demanded money. The intimidated staff gave the attacker PLN 50,000 from the bank's cash register. The man fled with the cash. – On Monday before 6 a.m., the Pajęczno detectives, in cooperation with police officers from the Criminal Department of the Provincial Police Headquarters in Łódź and the Independent Counter-Terrorist Unit of the Police in Łódź, detained a 42-year-old man in the Piotrków County district. The weapon he used in the attack was found at the suspect's place of residence. It was sent for ballistics tests. During the search of the premises, the police also recovered some of the stolen cash, the policewoman said.
The man heard the prosecutor's charges and pleaded guilty to the charge of robbery with a dangerous weapon. The 42-year-old has already been convicted many times, mainly for property crimes. Robbery with the use of a dangerous weapon is punishable by up to 20 years in prison, but the 42-year-old committed it as a recidivist, so he faces a more severe penalty. At the request of the prosecutor, the court imposed temporary arrest on the man.
