A woman giving birth got stuck in her car on a flooded road in Nowa Sól (Lubuskie Province). She needed help getting to the hospital. The pregnant woman was escorted by police officers. The woman got to the hospital on time and was taken under medical care.
On Saturday, September 21, the officer on duty at the police headquarters in Nowa Sól received information about a car stuck on a road flooded with water.
Aspirant Justyna Sęczkowska-Sobol, spokeswoman for the police in Nowa Sól, said that the situation was serious because “there was a woman in the car who could give birth at any moment”. The officer on duty determined the exact place where the car got stuck, where police officers from Gorzów prevention working on the flood went.
– After arriving at the scene, they set off with an escort towards Nowa Sól – said the policewoman.

In the city, the car was taken over by Nowa Sól police. – Due to their knowledge of the city, they quickly and efficiently reached the hospital with the woman giving birth – added the police spokeswoman. There, the woman was handed over to medics.
Alarm levels exceeded
On Monday morning (September 23), the flood wave reached Nowa Sól. The Odra River level in this city at 12:50 was 646 centimeters, with the alarm level at 450 cm.
– At the moment we are observing the passage of this highest point of the flood wave in Nowa Sól. The level should start to fall there in the evening hours – said Paweł Staniszewski, a hydrologist from IMWM, in an interview with tvnmeteo.pl on Monday afternoon.
