Accident on the Lesser Poland section of the A4 motorway. A 22-year-old man in critical condition was transported to hospital after his car in Nowe Żukowice crashed into a truck.
The accident happened on Tuesday (April 25) before 6 am on the 510th kilometer of the A4 motorway, near the town of Nowe Żukowice.
– For undetermined reasons, the driver of a passenger car, heading towards Rzeszów, hit the rear of the truck’s semi-trailer – told us staff assistant Paweł Klimek, press officer of the Municipal Police Headquarters in Tarnów.

Firefighters pulled him out of the vehicle. He was hospitalized in critical condition
Police and firefighters were sent to the scene of the accident. – Our actions consisted in securing the scene and evacuating the injured person from the passenger car, using specialized hydraulic equipment for this purpose, and then handing over the injured to the Medical Rescue Team who arrived at the scene – said junior brigadier Marcin Opioła, press officer of the Municipal Headquarters of the State Fire Service in Tarnów .

The driver of the passenger car was transported to the hospital. He is a 22-year-old resident of Podkarpacie. “He was taken from the scene of the accident in critical condition,” the police officer said. He added that the 22-year-old’s blood was taken to test for alcohol and other psychoactive substances.
The truck driver was sober and was not injured in the accident.
The police are explaining the causes and circumstances of the incident.
