A 13-month-old child with signs of beating was admitted to the hospital in Nowogard (West Pomeranian Voivodeship) on Christmas Day. The police questioned the boy's 22-year-old mother. – At the moment, there are no grounds to bring charges against anyone – the TVN24 reporter learned from the District Prosecutor's Office in Gryfice.
– The woman was detained by the police “in the case”, she was not charged with anything – Commissioner Zbigniew Frąckiewicz, spokesman for the District Police Headquarters in Gryfice, informed us on Friday morning.
As he said, the 22-year-old had already had it fitted in the past blue carddue to alcohol abuse. The family court was also notified in her case and had previously appointed a guardian for the family.
– In such cases, monitoring of minors is carried out extremely carefully. However, there was no information that anything bad happened to the children during this time – added Chief Frąckiewicz.
Late in the afternoon, Julia Szozda from the District Prosecutor's Office in Szczecin told TVN24 that the hearing as a witness of the child's mother had ended.
– The woman was released to go home – added Szozda. And she stipulated that she would not report what the boy's mother said because “the data is too sensitive.” – The next step in the case will be an expert opinion on the mechanisms of injury, but only after the child is discharged from the hospital – she said.

As the spokeswoman of the District Police Headquarters in Goleniów, junior officer Natalia Gogosza, informed TVN24, the police received a report in this case about the possibility of physical abuse by the mother of a 13-month-old child.
The case was transferred to the police in Gryfice, because the family comes from that district. In addition to the 13-month-old child who was taken to hospital, there is also a five-year-old boy and a two-year-old girl.
