The city surveillance cameras in Nowy Dwór Gdański recorded a woman throwing something in a plastic bag into the water. The children heard the scary meows and informed the adults. Moments later, the cameras recorded another woman entering the water to save the little kittens.

On Sunday, August 1, around 8:30 p.m., the city camera recorded a woman approaching the river in the city park on Kopernika Street. She had a tied plastic bag in her hand. Without hesitating, she threw it into the water and left …

It turned out that there were recently born cats inside. Their desperate meows alerted the children playing nearby, and they immediately alerted the adults and services.

One of the women who was in the park with her four-year-old daughter decided not to wait. She made her wait on the shore, and she threw off her dress and went into the water. After a while, she caught the kittens.

Two kittens survived, they already have a home

Two kittens were saved, the third one, unfortunately, did not survive. Both were taken in by a heroic resident of Nowy Dwór Gdański. The little ones are doing well.

Police quickly identified the woman who dropped the bag into the water. The 67-year-old was detained several minutes after the notification. She was charged with abusing animals with particular cruelty. After the charges had been brought, she was released. She faces up to five years in prison.
