Police officers from Nysa (Opole Province) have detained a 21-year-old resident who exceeded the speed limit in a built-up area by over 50 kilometres per hour twice in just a few hours. The woman lost her driving licence and her fate will be decided by the court.
On Saturday, August 3, police officers stopped a 21-year-old resident of Nysa during a road check, driving a Volkswagen through the city at 105 kilometers per hour. The speed limit in this area is 50 kilometers per hour.
After stopping her, it turned out that the woman had already been punished for significantly exceeding the speed limit at the beginning of July. In accordance with the applicable regulations, due to recidivism, the police imposed on her a fine of PLN 3,000 and 13 penalty points. In addition, they seized her driving license for exceeding the speed limit in a built-up area. At that time, the driver refused to accept the fine.
She exceeded the speed limit by more than twice
As if that wasn't enough, the 21-year-old's adventures didn't end there. Three hours later, the same woman was stopped again, this time on Kolejowa Street in Nysa, where the speed limit is 30 kilometers per hour. The 21-year-old was driving there at 81 kilometers per hour.
“After stopping her for a check, the police officers, seeing her disregard for the applicable traffic regulations, prepared a motion to punish her in both cases to the court,” the Nysa police report.
