Four passengers were hospitalized after an accident that happened on Saturday morning in Dębina (Pomeranian Voivodeship). The bus, which was carrying six people, ran off the road and overturned during an overtaking manoeuvre.

On Saturday, March 11, to the duty station of the district commander of the State Fire Service in Malbork, a moment at At 6.18 a report was received about a bus that rolled over in a ditch. Four fire brigades and medical rescue teams were dispatched to the accident site in Dębina on the national road No. 55 (Pomeranian Voivodeship).

According to the young asp. Mariusz Wyciszkiewicz, spokesman for the district commander of the State Fire Service in Malbork, six people traveled in a Ford Transit vehicle. Five of them got out of the vehicle on their own. Four passengers were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

The services disconnected the battery in the crashed vehicle. Firefighters helped a roadside assistance worker load the damaged vehicle onto a tow truck.

When overtaking

– According to the findings of the police officers, the 41-year-old bus driver, heading towards Nowy Dwór Gdański, lost control of the steering wheel during the overtaking maneuver and fell into the ditch – informs senior asp. Sylwia Kowalewski, press officer of the district police commander in Malbork.

According to the police officer, the driver was intoxicated.
