On the night of Tuesday to Wednesday, a tragic fire broke out in Ochoża-Pniaki (Lublin Province). During the firefighting operation, the firefighters found a charred body in the site of the fire. Police determine whether the victim is a 70-year-old who lived in a burnt house.
The fire services received the notification of the fire before 1.20 on Wednesday. When the firefighters arrived, the wooden house was completely engulfed in fire.
One person is dead
– Firefighters started the firefighting action by giving three jets of water. Unfortunately, one person died as a result of this unfortunate event – says Brigadier Wojciech Chudoba from the City Headquarters of the State Fire Service in Chełm.
On-site inspections are carried out with the participation of a prosecutor and an expert in the field of firefighting.

The firefighting operation lasted over three hours. A total of five teams participated in it – 16 rescuers from the State Fire Service from Chełm and from the Volunteer Fire Brigades from Busówno and Wierzbica.
