From December 1 to March 1, under the regulation of the Minister of Interior and Administration, Mariusz Kamiński, it is forbidden to stay on the border with Belarus. It covers 115 towns of the Podlaskie Voivodeship and 68 towns of the Lubelskie Voivodeship. It was introduced immediately after the end of the state of emergency in this area, which limited the presence of journalists, doctors and activists of aid groups in the border area.

Journalists, despite the lifting of the state of emergency, cannot move freely in the border area. Currently, the commander of the Border Guard will be the one who will decide which journalists may stay in the border area. In this situation, representatives of the media must apply for accreditation in order to be able to work at the border with Belarus. In other cases, they must be based on the messages of the authorities and services.
