On Monday, Olsztyn police detained a man suspected of trying to rape a girl under the age of 15. They also check if he caught the girls on the playground under the pretext of showing them kittens or looking for lost items.

The Olsztyn District Court decided to three months of custody for a man suspected of trying to rape a teenager. The services verify other applications related to the discharge of children and ask to report similar situations to them.

A spokesman for the District Prosecutor's Office in Olsztyn Daniel Brodowski announced that the temporarily arrested man was punished in the past and served a prison sentence for a similar deed.

– The situation he heard the allegations took place on March 28 in green areas at one of the Olsztyn housing estates. Two girls walked there in the evening. One of them an adult man asked for help in looking for a lost thing. When the girl went to the side with him, he knocked her over and tried to rape – said prosecutor Brodowski.

He added that the girl managed to escape, join a friend and both asked the first people encountered to inform the police.

The suspect did not confess

The officers did not manage to stop the man immediately, but – as the prosecutor emphasized – they quickly selected the man and stopped him after a few days. The prosecutor charged the detainee with the attempt to rape a person under 15 years of age.

– The detainee did not admit and explained – said prosecutor Brodowski.
