A 31-year-old citizen of Belarus, who used a forged birth certificate to get the Pole’s Card, faces up to five years in prison. According to the services, the man bought a fake birth certificate for his mother for $ 200.
As he informs border guards, the 31-year-old appeared at the Warmińsko-Mazurskie Voivodship Office to collect the Pole’s Card. “He did not expect that the documents submitted earlier would be verified in such detail. However, instead of collecting the document, he heard allegations of using a forged birth certificate,” the services said.

As the SG further informs, the man admitted that he bought a forged birth certificate of his mother for 200 US dollars, in which the original records were removed and replaced with data that was supposed to prove his Polish origin. “The foreigner hoped that in this way he would be able to outsmart officials and officers” – the border guards reported.
For the committed crime, a Belarusian is liable to a fine or up to five years in prison.
As we read on the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, people who feel Polish, although they live outside the country, after completing the formalities, are granted the Pole’s Card. This document proves belonging to the Polish nation.
