Olsztyn, Old Town. The counter -terrorists stopped the man, a shot was fired

In one of the tenement houses in the Olsztyn Old Town, the counter -terrorists detained a man who aimed at police officers on Saturday evening, who aimed at policemen resembling a weapon. A shot was fired during the arrest, but nothing happened to anyone – said the press officer of the Olsztyn police Jacek Wilczewski.

The press officer of the Olsztyn police Jacek Wilczewski announced that around 6pm the police officer called the police intervention in connection with the aggressive behavior of the 49-year-old. As it turned out, he was a resident of Olsztyn.

In this house, the police recorded a similar situation at least once. Because the applicant informed the police duty officer that an aggressive man may have a weapon, therefore counter -terrorists were called to the intervention.

– The detained was taken to the hospital to do his examination whether he was under the influence of stimulants, and if so, which – said Wilczewski.

The policeman assured that none of the members of the two counter -terrorist brigades that had stopped, nothing happened.

As a policeman said, an aggressive man barricaded himself in one of the rooms of the tenement house and he could not communicate with him. When the police entered this room, the man aimed at them reminiscent of a weapon. – That is why there was a dynamic stop, during which a shot was fired. Nothing happened to anyone – said Wilczewski.

A prosecutor and policemen work on site. The subject that the man was in police officers was secured. “It resembles gas weapon, but what is it really, the expert must assess,” said Wilczewski.

In connection with the police action on Saturday evening, some streets in the Old Town near the cathedral were blocked. Wilczewski reported that it was too early to talk about the legal qualification of the detainees committed.
