Omięciny. A man bitten by two Rottweilers has died

A 57-year-old man bitten by dogs in Omięciny near Płońsk is dead. The man died in hospital after several operations. An autopsy revealed that the cause of death was injuries caused by a rottweiler attack. The prosecutor’s office changed the direction of the investigation, now it is underway for involuntary manslaughter of the 57-year-old.

The man died in a hospital in Warsaw on December 4. – An autopsy showed that the cause of death was multi-organ injuries caused by dog ​​bites – confirmed to us Ewa Ambroziak, the District Prosecutor in Płońsk.

As the prosecutor added, after the death of the man, the direction of the investigation changed, and now it is carried out under Article 155 of the Criminal Code, which concerns unintentional manslaughter. This act is punishable by up to five years in prison.

– Previously, the activities were carried out in terms of Article 156 paragraph 2 of the Penal Code, which concerns unintentional causing grievous bodily harm – reminded the prosecutor.

The investigation is still ongoing, no one has been charged

As the head of the Płońsk district prosecutor’s office emphasized in an interview with tvnwarszawa.pl, the investigation is still ongoing in the case, not against the person, which means that no one has been charged so far.

As we managed to find out, the veterinary observation of two rottweilers that attacked the 57-year-old has already ended. – The doctor did not find any diseases in them, the dogs were handed over to the owner – prosecutor Ambroziak told us.

The investigation is ongoing, the owner of the dogs has not yet been questioned.

The dogs attacked a farm worker

The incident took place on November 17 on the property belonging to the stud farm in Omięciny located in the Joniec commune in the Płońsk district. The 57-year-old had been employed there for about two weeks, doing minor cleaning work, such as raking leaves.

As prosecutor Ewa Ambroziak informed at the time, the owners left the stud early in the morning that day. There were three surveillance cameras on the property at the time. Thanks to this, at one point the owner noticed that a 57-year-old working there had been attacked by two rottweilers. The woman immediately notified her parents and a neighbor who tried to chase the dogs away by taunting them at the fence.

A man severely bitten by dogs was taken to a hospital in Warsaw. His condition was described as critical from the beginning. – He suffered very serious injuries, especially to his hands and head, but traces of bites, even tears, were found all over his body – prosecutor Ambroziak described at that time.

He underwent several operations and died on December 4 as a result of his injuries.

The dogs have never been a problem before

On the day the 57-year-old was attacked, the dogs were on the property and not locked. – Previously, however, they did not cause any problems and were not aggressive – said Commissioner Kinga Drężek-Zmysłowska from the Poviat Police Headquarters in Płońsk.

The dogs, investigators determined, were vaccinated. The owners had permission to own two of them. The third dog, also a Rottweiler, who was at the stud at the time, was a puppy that did not attack the man.
