Arrested red-handed

As she further explained, the goods were stored in a residential building on one of the private properties, and the contraband was delivered there by both a delivery van and a passenger car.

– The men were caught red-handed when they were emptying the bus of cartons containing cigarettes without Polish excise stamps, bringing them into the home garage. The police searched the building and vehicles, confiscating a total of 263 boxes, the so-called “pizzas” containing over a million pieces of illegal cigarettes and cut tobacco. Additionally, criminal investigators secured almost PLN 9,000 towards future penalties, said Deputy Commissioner Szczerba.
