Sunrises can be picturesque. Only a select few can watch them from the International Space Station (ISS). NASA shared an incredible view of the phenomenon on social media, recorded by one of the astronauts.
In a time-lapse video taken from the International Space Station, the sky above Earth can be seen lit up by the approaching sunrise. The footage was posted on social media.
“Orbital Sunrise”. Recording
American space agency NASA reported that the footage of the “orbital sunrise” – when an astronaut sees the sunrise from space – was made by flight engineer Matthew Dominick and was filmed as the space station flew over Europa.
Dominick has spent the last six months aboard the ISS as commander of the SpaceX Crew-8 mission, conducting science experiments and maintaining the space station.
– Reds and greens aurora borealis and city lights reflect off the service module's solar panels. The Milky Way is visible behind the space station, he described the view.
