He is suspected of tricking his ex-partner towards him and then imprisoning her. A 22-year-old woman was to be a victim of brutal violence for several days. Its alleged perpetrator faces up to 12 years in prison.
The police in Opoczno (Łódź Voivodeship) were alerted that a 22-year-old woman had been forcibly detained by her ex-partner for several days. – Nobody previously reported the missing young woman, but the officers immediately started working – says staff aspirant Barbara Stępień from the Opoczno police.
On the same day, a 28-year-old former partner of the victim was detained. The officers found that the man lured her to the apartment where he held the woman against her will for several consecutive days.
– The 28-year-old was very aggressive towards his victim, he used violence against the woman, forced him to behave in a certain way, raped him many times – says Asp. staff. Stępień.
She escaped using “the torturer’s momentary inattention”
The police say that the woman managed to escape when she took advantage of “the torturer’s momentary inattention”.
– At the moment when the opportunity arose, she opened the door and ran away – says Stępień.
The man arrested in this case had previously been convicted of crimes involving deprivation of liberty. The police do not provide details, but point out that the 28-year-old acted under conditions of recidivism.
– Therefore, he must take into account the possibility of increasing the penalty. For the charges that have been presented to him, i.e. rape, illegal deprivation of liberty and administration of psychoactive substances, he may be imprisoned for up to 12 years – emphasizes the policewoman.
The 28-year-old was temporarily arrested. The prosecutor’s office in Opoczno is investigating this matter.
