On the night from Sunday to Monday, part of the new playground in Opole burned down. The fire department cites arson as the initial cause of the fire. The police are investigating the circumstances of the incident.

The newly built playground is located at the intersection of Nysy Łużycka and Budowlanych streets in Opole. The services received a notification about the fire before 1 am. Three fire brigades were sent to the site.

Slide on fire. The police will investigate

– Firefighters found a heavily developed fire on a slide with a metal structure of a high tower, closed with plastic walls. A current of water was given, then a current of foam. The fire was quickly put out. Neighboring attractions were also slightly damaged by the heat – says Tomasz Pierzchała, press officer of the Opole fire brigade.

The biggest attraction on the playground – a slide measuring five by five meters and 12 meters high – completely burned down. Firefighters said the cause of the incident was arson. The police are responsible for clarifying all the circumstances.
