In October 2023, Krzysztof M. fired firearm at intervening policemen. He was sentenced to 22 years in prison for attempted murder. The verdict is unlawful.
The incident occurred on October 23, 2023. Policemen from Opole were ordered to arrest for evading a prison sentence of Krzysztof M. who lived in Sowina, however, at the sight of police officers, he pulled out a gun and began to threaten him with officers.
Negotiators and a assault branch equipped with anti -terrorist equipment were called in. After fruitless conversations aimed at convincing a man to surrender, armed policemen entered the action. After entering the building, three officers, Krzysztof M. fired at least three shots from the gun. One of the bullets hit the ballistic shield, which was held by a policeman. Krzysztof M. was overpowered with the help of a stun gun. In the rooms of the building occupied by the suspect, over half a kilo of marijuana and hemp cultivation other than fiber were found.
M. did not plead guilty. After detention, he stated that he was unlawfully attacked by policemen and shot in defense of his own.
Judgment for attempted murder
On Wednesday, March 19, the District Court in Opole issued a judgment in the case Krzysztof M. and found him guilty of the deeds alleged to him.
– For this main, i.e. attempted murder of police officers, Krzysztof M. received a 20 -year imprisonment. He was also responsible for other deeds, i.e. forcing with unlawful threat and violence to abandon officers, illegal possession of weapons and ammunition, illegal possession of significant amounts of intoxicant and hemp cultivation that could provide a significant amount of marijuana. The total penalty is 22 years imprisonment. The court also ruled the accused with cash benefits in the amount of PLN 20,000, including three times 5,000 for the victim aid fund and post -pantry assistance and 5,000 to the Monar Association – said TVN24.pl Aneta Rempalska from the Communication Office of the District Court in Opole.
The verdict is unlawful.
