Voters need to see us together, together, to see the opposition that cooperates with each other and has some plans. We, as the Left, call for us to sit down at the table again, said Robert Biedroń, an MEP and one of the leaders of the Left, on TVN24. He referred, inter alia, to the issue of one opposition list for elections.
“Gazeta Wyborcza” published on Monday “civic poll” financed by the Long Table Forum Foundation and carried out by Kantar. It shows that in recent months support for the Civic Coalition, Poland 2050, Polish People’s Party and the Left has weakened to such an extent that the only variant in which the opposition could win the elections, is a start from a common list.
Biedroń: Perhaps this is the moment to sit down at the table again
One of the leaders of the Left, an MEP, spoke on Monday in “Rozmowo Piaseckiego” about the pre-election situation in the opposition Robert Biedron.
– I see energy in the opposition. We drive, we talk, so do other leaders. Perhaps this is the moment, and tomorrow it may not be there to sit down at the table again. This is missing, he said.
He added that “for several weeks – after the volt Szymon Hołownia with a different vote than the majority of the opposition – unfortunately, these meetings no longer take place.
– It seems to me that voters need to see us together, together, to see the opposition that cooperates with each other, has some plans. We, as the Left, call for us to sit down to the table again, said Biedroń.
Biedroń: we need to define a common program minimum
According to the TVN24 guest, “today the most important task for the opposition is – firstly, to define the program minimum for elections, and then joint governments, and to infect voters with our offer.”
– We need to sign a pact for joint rule. Something that will be a binder, a foundation for further cooperation. So that voters can see that we have a program that we want with PiS win. We need to show a vision of Poland, why we want to win these elections, Biedroń argued in “Rozmowie Piaseckiego”.
– We have a very similar vision when it comes to health and education. (…) PiS promised to bring money from Brussels, they even made billboards, and today we know that under PiS rule there will be no money for Poland. Because PiS does not want and is unable to deliver them. This is one of the things the opposition can put on the table as a joint proposal for society. These are investments, money for schools and hospitals, he said. “Extremely important,” he added.
The TVN24 guest also said that “it is inconceivable” that there are no talks in the opposition about a joint housing program. – Having all these programs, we as leaders are not able to sit down at the same table and talk about the problem of housing, which is one of the most important problems for Poland. I imagine it and I appeal for it to organize a series of panels where the leaders of various opposition groups would talk about health, education, housing and come up with a common agenda – said Biedroń.
This – in his opinion – “is something extremely sexy and it would excite voters finally to go vote and vote for the opposition.” However, he noted that “the ambitions of some leaders, unfortunately, obscure this.”
