IMGW has issued first-degree warnings for storms. The lightning will be accompanied by heavy rain and gusty winds. Second-degree heat alarms are also in effect.
Institute of Meteorology and Water Management (IMWM) issued first and second degree meteorological warnings on a three-point, ascending scale.
IMWM first degree warnings – storms
First degree warnings before storms valid in the following voivodeships:
- Greater Polandin the counties of Rawicz, Leszno, LesznoWolsztyn;
- Lower Silesianexcluding the counties located in the eastern part of the region;
- lubuskieexcept the northern counties.
According to weather forecasters, storms are forecast, which in places will be accompanied by heavy rainfall of 20-30 liters per square meter and wind gusts of up to 70 kilometers per hour. Locally, it will rain hail.
The alarms will be valid from 2-9 am on Wednesday.
IMWM warnings of the second degree – heat
IMGW also warns of heat. Orange warnings apply in the following provinces:
Maximum daytime temperatures will range from 29 to 32 degrees Celsius. The warnings will be valid until 8 p.m. on Wednesday.
IMWM threat forecast for Wednesday
On Wednesday, the weather may be dangerous in almost the entire country. IMGW plans to issue second-degree storm warnings in the following provinces that day: Silesian (southern counties), Lesser Poland, Subcarpathian, Świętokrzyskie, Lublin, Masovian (in the southern and south-eastern counties), Podlasie (except the northern counties).
First degree alerts may appear in the following provinces: West Pomeranian (in the eastern counties), Pomeranian, Warmia-Masuria, Kuyavian-Pomeranian, Podlasie (in the northern and north-western counties), Masovian (in the northern and north-western counties), Lodz, Silesian (except southern counties), Opole, Lower Silesian (in the eastern counties), Greater Poland (except the south-western counties).
IMWM threat forecast for Saturday
On Thursday and Friday, IMGW does not plan to issue any warnings. However, they may appear on the first day of the weekend.
On Saturday, second-degree heat alarms may appear in almost the entire country outside the West Pomeranian, Lubusz and Lower Silesian voivodeships.
First-degree heat warnings may apply in the following provinces: West Pomeranian, lubuskie and Lower Silesia.
What is the second degree IMWM meteorological warning?
Second degree warning predicts the occurrence of dangerous meteorological phenomena causing large material losses and a threat to health and life. Dangerous phenomena or the effects of their occurrence significantly limit the conduct of business. Expect disruptions in everyday functioning. Great caution is recommended, the need to track messages and the development of the weather situation. Follow all recommendations issued by the rescue services in the event of a threat. Adjust your plans to the weather conditions.
