The heatwave is abating in almost all of Poland at the beginning of the week. In parts of the country, high and tiring temperatures are still expected to persist. Warnings from the Institute of Meteorology and Water Management are in effect.
Institute of Meteorology and Water Management (IMWM) issued first and second degree warnings on a three-point, ascending scale.
IMWM warnings of the second degree – heat
Second-degree heat warnings are in effect in the following provinces:
- Lublinin the Hrubieszów and Tomaszów counties;
- Subcarpathianin the Lubaczów and Przemyśl counties and in Przemyśl.
The maximum temperature during the day will be from 30 to 32 degrees Celsius, and thermometers at night will show a minimum of 17-19 degrees Celsius.
The warnings will be valid until 7 p.m. on Tuesday.
What is the second degree IMWM meteorological warning?
Second degree warning predicts the occurrence of dangerous meteorological phenomena causing large material losses and a threat to health and life. Dangerous phenomena or the effects of their occurrence significantly limit the conduct of business. Expect disruptions in everyday functioning. Great caution is recommended, the need to track messages and the development of the weather situation. Follow all recommendations issued by the rescue services in the event of a threat. Adjust your plans to the weather conditions.
