At the distributors of some Orlen stations on Thursday evening and Friday, information about a “temporary lack of fuel” appeared. “In recent days, we have noticed increased demand, which was related to the end of the summer price promotion,” the company said in a response sent to TVN24 Biznes. At the same time, Orlen assured that fuel to the stations “is delivered on an ongoing basis and there is no reason to worry that it will run out”.

On Contact 24 on Friday we received information and photos from Internet users indicating a lack of fuel at some Orlen stations. The situation is to concern stations in various cities, e.g. in Warsaw, Radom and Kutno.

In the case of some outlets, information about a “temporary shortage” of certain fuels appeared already on Thursday.

We have sent questions on this matter to Orlen.

Orlen explains

In response to TVN24 Biznes, Orlen assured that “supplies of petrol and diesel oil to Orlen stations are proceeding without interruption”.

“In recent days, we have recorded increased demand for fuel, which was related to the end of the summer price promotion. This year, it was even more successful than last year, and the last few days turned out to be record-breaking. In response, the company strengthened logistics and deliveries fuel to the stations” – we read in the reply sent to us.

Orlen emphasized that “it is prepared to maintain the increased intensity of deliveries for as long as necessary to meet the demand of its customers.”

The company also appealed “not to create artificial demand that could result in queues and purchasing fuel in reserve.” “Fuel is delivered to Orlen stations on an ongoing basis and there is no reason to fear that it will run out,” the company concluded.

End of holiday refueling promotions

At the end of August, the holiday promotion for refueling at Orlen stations ended. Thanks to it, drivers could save several zlotys when refueling a full tank.

For participants of the Vitay loyalty program, fuels were 30 cents cheaper per liter. For Large Family Card holders, the discount was 40 groszy per liter. The limit for a single refueling with a discount was 50 liters.

Orlen is no exception here. On Thursday, there were also holiday promotions for refueling at the following stations: BP, MOL, Shell, Moya and Amic Energy. The holiday promotion at Circle K stations will last a little longer, until September 3.
