Orlen has changed its name

The press office of the Płock concern informed us earlier that the change of name would not entail the need for rebranding. As it was explained, “in the visual identification of the company, only the name ‘Orlen’ and the white and red logo depicting the head of an eagle are used for marketing purposes”. As announced, the above elements will not change and will continue to be used.

The board of directors applied for a name change. The shortening of the name is intended to ensure consistency with the adopted Orlen 2030 strategy in the field of building a multi-energy concern and building a global Orlen brand on foreign markets.

As the Management Board argued, the company’s actions and further development plans imply the need to change the perception of the company’s brand, currently focused around crude oil processing. The new name is to reflect the current, actual form of activity and its strategic directions of development, as it is planned that in the years 2023-2026 approximately 66 percent of the value of the Orlen Group will be provided by segments not related to crude oil processing. Thus, the term “petroleum” in the name is no longer adequate and consistent in connection with the vision and plans for development beyond the oil segment – indicated the Management Board in the application for change.
